One of the first riddles you will get is: ‘In the eye of the lake, there stands a tree. And in its roots, you’ll find what you seek.’ This riddle is given by Daisy Took (one of the villagers in Bywater), and it can be a little confusing if you are not sure where to go. Eye of the Lake Tree Location in Tales of the Shire

To get started with the Eye of the Lake riddle, you’ll first need to talk to Daisy Took. You can find her in the Willow’s Workshop area.

This riddle can be a bit tricky because the only clue you get is that there’s a tree in the “Eye of the Lake.” With so many lakes and ponds around Bywater, it’s easy to get confused. We definitely wandered around for a while. But, once you know where to go, it’s actually pretty simple.

“In the eye of the lake, there stands a tree. And in its roots, you’ll find what you seek.”

The location you need to visit is a lake in the southern part of Bywater, near the Cotton Family’s home. There are not many lakes in this area, so once you are there, it won’t be hard for you to find the right one. We have also attached a screenshot below for your convenience.

At first glance, the lake may not seem like it resembles an eye. But, when you open the map, you will notice it vaguely takes on that shape. There are a few other lakes that might look somewhat similar, but for the purpose of this riddle, this is the one that matters.

After reaching the lake, you should head toward the bridge that leads to a small island. After you cross it, you will see some white sparkles near the base of a tree trunk. As you walk closer, you’ll get the option to inspect them. The moment you do, Daisy Took will appear, and just like that, your riddle will be solved!
