Battlefield 6 producer Alexia Christofi has asked fans what they think is so important about a server browser. Right now, Battlefield 6 doesn’t seem to have a server browser, but it seems that Battlefield Studios is aware that fans would like to see the legacy series feature make a return.
The server browser was featured in older Battlefield games in place of a matchmaking system. This allowed players to choose the exact map, mode, and even player count of the server they wanted to join, giving them more freedom to play exactly how they wanted. Battlefield 2042 did not feature a server browser for official servers, much to the disappointment of many fans. If it were to return, it would undoubtedly be welcomed.
Battlefield 6 Producer Wants to Know Why a Server Browser is Important to Fans
Recently, producer Alexia Christofi took to X to ask fans about a possible server browser in Battlefield 6, stating that she wants to “understand everyone’s reasons for wanting a server browser so I can make sure I explain what we’re doing effectively.” She also asked fans directly, “What is it about a server browser that’s important to you lot?”
Her question was met with plenty of responses from the Battlefield community, and one answer came up frequently: “choice.” Players want to be able to have agency over how they’re spending their time in Battlefield 6‘s multiplayer, which a server browser would deliver instantly. It was pointed out in the responses that the server browser played a significant role in the longevity of previous Battlefield games, which is why its potential inclusion in the latest iteration could be a good idea.
Fans don’t have to wait long to get their first taste of Battlefield 6. EA is set to host the first Battlefield 6 open beta on August 9, with early access starting a little earlier on August 7. There will also be a second open beta from August 14 to 17, and it will be interesting to see if it can live up to what is becoming enormous hype.
