The online version of the beloved monster-catching card game has been one of the premier ways for fans of the franchise to play the game in a digital format. Pokemon TCG Live features a plethora of cards for players to pick up, from as early as the Black & White era of the game up to the most recent sets like “Black Bolt” and “White Flare.” Now, fans are getting some free cards within the game.
Pokemon TCG Live provides fans with a plethora of ways to pick up the newest cards and decks within the digital trading card game. Players can earn levels on the game’s Battle Pass through both playing the game and completing various daily missions to earn extra experience and Trainer Points. Each pack of physical Pokemon cards also includes a code card, allowing players to redeem a free pack in the game to go with their real-world purchase. Now, a new code is gifting fans with a trio of flashy Legendary Pokemon cards.
Pokemon TCG Live officially rolled out a new distribution code on Friday, giving fans the chance to pick up three Unova Legendaries for a limited time. When using the code “JUSTIFIED25” in Pokemon TCG Live‘s in-game shop, players will be gifted with Illustration Rare cards of Virizion, Terrakion, Cobalion within the digital card game. The full-art cards are all taken from the previously-mentioned “Black Bolt” and “White Flare” sets, normally only obtainable through in-game packs. Fans looking to pick up the Illustration Rare cards will have to act fast, however, with the code only redeemable until October 9.

The trio of special full-art cards serve a variety of unique purposes within the card game, sporting useful attacks and being more elusive in-game. Cobalion helps to disrupt the opponent’s plays by discarding any Special Energy cards from their Active Pokemon, while Virizion’s Giga Drain heals based on the amount of damage it deals. Illustration Rare cards are also notably harder to pick up in TCG Live, with fans needing to wait a set amount of time after an expansion’s release to craft full-art cards.
The Pokemon TCG and Pokemon TCG Live should have lots of exciting new cards coming soon for fans of the game. September will welcome the launch of the brand-new “Mega Evolution” expansion, bringing Mega Pokemon back as an in-game mechanic for the first time since the X & Y era.
